A symbol of coexistence between people and nature

In a world marked by fragmentation and systemic instability, sustainable coexistence requires more than policy reform — it requires structural clarity.
The Sociom Research Institute Inc. is an incorporated research organization dedicated to identifying Sociom — the foundational social axioms that enable societies to remain stable and sustainable. These principles shape collective life before conflict emerges.
As social systems expand and interconnect, their internal dynamics often drift toward divergence, producing long-term instability. We examine whether transforming these dynamics toward convergence can foster durable and coherent social order.
Through interdisciplinary research, public dialogue, and practical engagement, the Institute advances a structural understanding of social stability grounded in observable conditions rather than ideology. Based in Wonju City, Republic of Korea, our inquiry extends globally.
Our mission is to identify and clarify Sociom — the foundational principles that sustain stable and sustainable coexistence. We investigate the structural conditions that foster convergence rather than fragmentation and contribute to the cultivation of coherent social systems grounded in observable reality.
Lasting stability depends on foundational conditions, not symptomatic reaction.
Our inquiry operates within observable knowledge and avoids speculation.
Sociom does not impose belief or rank identities; it identifies principles that precede disagreement.
Stable systems require integrated understanding across disciplines and contexts.
Though based in the Republic of Korea, our work addresses systemic challenges beyond borders.
Modern societies operate through complex economic, political, technological, and cultural systems. Many share a structural tendency toward divergence — expanding differentiation that, beyond certain limits, increases instability.
Divergence is not inherently flawed, but when it exceeds the conditions of sustainable coexistence, systems become fragile. Sociom research begins from this observation: stable societies require convergent conditions under which difference can coexist without collapse. Identifying those conditions motivates our work.
It is neither ideology nor doctrine. It does not prescribe norms or depend on cultural or political positions. It clarifies the conditions of coexistence that precede interpretation and debate.
The Institute seeks to contribute to a livable future by clarifying what must be preserved for societies to remain stable and sustainable. We invite engagement through research, dialogue, and practice — guided by attention to structural conditions rather than belief.
